The ‘You’ here is not a beloved being, but a part of your own being. When I sat down to write about how my feelings make me feel, this is what I thought of and immediately put all of it in words. So, the ‘You’ here are the feelings; which give so much to take note of, when we actually sit with them.
Rushing towards everything, we forget what we are and how we feel, but every once in a while, when we do get to a point where we are able to see through our own selves, we get to see what’s cooking inside.
They say feelings are the GPS to our soul, and when I actually started to look at them in this way, I found it to be as true as the presence of the Sun and the Moon. They are always here to guide us to greatness, but we keep running to this aspiration and that desire, and in all of this, forget how we are neglecting our own true potential. What the society or the media portrays as important, may not be for us, but how do we find this out.
By being silent, by looking inside us, by letting our thoughts run wild for some time, to see how they make us feel, and what doesn’t feel good is what is not for us. What instead feels great, even if we don’t know how to reach for that dream or vision, is what our true calling is to be.
This internal GPS mechanism of our soul can be trusted with all the major things in life, whether that be the career decision, or to know how a particular person makes us feel. How many times we all have said that that particular thing made us feel uneasy and that is how it turned out to be; a bad experience. Much like everything else in life which seems new to us, even trusting our feelings take time and practice. Then comes the part of the uneasiness that shows up when we try to get out of our comfort zone, and take risks in life. That is where we need to be extra cautious; because if we don’t get out of our comfort zone, we will not grow. In such situations is where the fact that we are human and make mistakes and learn from them part comes into play. Risks that make your heart grow with pride at the thought of becoming a reality should be taken; either you will reach your goals, or you will learn a thing or two. Either way, you will have gone through something that makes you grow. And that is what life is all about.
With the new year just around the corner, can we all learn to trust who we are! Without hopping around aimlessly to what the World says is worthwhile, if at all we can learn to let our feelings navigate us, we can surely sail through the storms and reach the paradise of our lives.
